Issue #5 - SR Skatepark -
With a weird and wacky Saturday the sun decided to show its face and fight off any rain clouds. The night before was filled with a good storm and pouring all night. Then come morning though... Boy do I wish I wouldn't have canceled the event now, such is life.
I did however go out there, as a birthday present to myself. Turning a quarter of a century year old and then deciding to ride your local skate-park (which you never got a hang of to begin with...) was a little intimidating at times. Maybe a few more frequent trips would prove to be beneficial?
In any event the locals shredded the park. I am drawing a blank on the names. But countless others were having a blast around the park. In and out of the transitions, gaps, and the best... table tops.
I looked for some video and found this:
I like the feel to the video. I've also seen another video of Ruben riding the park on a visit. During the video Ruben brings up a good point of the graffiti, and the difficulties of riding a slick surface. I didn't find this too bad, I did find my back however to be a problem. The reminder of the past surgery is always there and seems to shows its head the wrong time. Recently I've been having more issues with it. Never a good thing, but I still did manage to have my fun. I think some more trips could prove beneficial... maybe just starting slower.
Big thanks to my buddy Ian for coming to town. Riding with you is the best buddy.

Party is moved - The Canyon - Political views of a 19yr old, Save me now!
With a call for rain in the forecast on Saturday, January 30th, I had been contemplating postponing the BBQ and JAM. After talking with my good friend Mike B. about an upcoming show in the Santa Rosa area, he informed me it would be great to release the zine there as well. What does mean? Well the skatepark jam will happen when the weather is little less gloomy. The raffle is still on! I'll have a table set-up at the show with raffle tickets and zines for sale, free zines, free posters, and some stickers! Hope everyone enjoys. My apologies about the last minute change in location. I hope you all can make it! Also with this being said, I will still be at the skatepark for a few hours tomorrow. I'll have zines and few giveaways on hand!
Sasquatch Canyon has had some awesome updates as of late. Make sure to check it out!
And lastly a quote regarding a 19 year old's, John Teague, political views:
"Obama's speech skillz never fail to amaze. A good address overall, I think!"
And when someone questions John's president:
"Lolling* at the guy above me really hard."
If this is our future, I am really afraid...
*"Lolling" - Laugh Out Loud Louding?!? Really? Is that even spelled properly?

More Raffle Prizes - StormDrain Life? - If the rain comes...
Hell yea! Along with the prizes mentioned last time we have a few things to add, check it out below:
Big thanks to Odyssey and PicDit!
I spotted this over at PrettyShady. I'm really blown away, fantastic use of a spot guys!
Lastly, if it does decide to rain this upcoming Saturday I think the event will be canceled. I have something in the works for Issue #6, but that's in March. I'm going to talk with some people around town this week about something else possibly... maybe a bike-shop. According to weather.com we have a slight chance of showers. I'll keep everyone posted!

Release Party?! - Raffle Prizes - Friends
Facebook is weird thing. My parents actually had a Facebook before I had one, and encouraged/forced that I do the same. Fuck... anyways I have an Event posted for the Release Party. RSVP if you'd like! AGAIN RAIN CANCELS THIS EVENT! SORRY!
So what's up with the party?!? Everyone always wants to know: "Hey what do I get out of this?", "Are their going to be fine ladies/gents in attendance?", "What about food?", and the ever elusive "Can I bring beer?"
You can win any of the above, and more! I've got a nice collection of Raffle Prizes so far with some other stuff possibly arriving in the mail. So far we've got: Bike Parts (bmx & fixedgear), Framed Art, Prints, Free copies of Ice Cold #5, stickers, and more! Ladies and dudes are always welcome to attend, of all ages too! With that said no drinking of alcoholic beverages, please. I don't know the size or turn-out factor, so I have not acquired a permit for such activities and cannot condone such a thing. Maybe next time! Food will be on hand though, with a donation of $2, you'll be able to enjoy hot-dogs, chips, and soda. Candy and other treats should be around as well.
If you haven't noticed because of my constant posting, Ice Cold has been moving around the web. Check out a nice post from Mutiny, as well as Defgrip earlier in the week. Thanks guys!
